Pharmacy Technician, Walton
Walton on the Naze
Walton Medical Centre has an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our practice. This role can be offered on a full-time or part-time basis, with flexibility on days and hours
About the role
Walton Medical Practice is situated in the traditional seaside resort of Walton on the Naze, on the Essex Coast. They have a list size of just over 8300 patients. As well as 2 GP Partners and a salaried GP, the Practice team includes a Clinical Pharmacy team of 2, a Nursing team of 10 and an efficient and effective Reception and Administrative team of 18.
About the candidate
You must have a good level of education, including Maths and English and be a registered member of the GPhC with at least 2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician and experience of supervision/ leadership on projects. It is desirable that you have experience of supervising staff, but this is not essential.
You must have experience of dealing with patients face to face in clinics as well as over the telephone and digitally. You must have experience of working within a diverse team with multiple disciplinaries and be able to liaise with clinical and admin staff with the Practice. You are required to have experience of using computer systems including clinical systems, such as SystmOne and EMIS Web.
You are required to have knowledge of law and guidelines around medicines and the Code of Conduct. You must have strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing as well as strong knowledge of a high level of confidentiality. You must have experience of liaising with the PCN Clinical Pharmacist and be able to escalate issues to them.
