Receptionist/Care Navigator, Ardleigh

Ardleigh Surgery has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Receptionist/Care Navigator based at our busy and friendly surgery. This position is offered on a part time basis, working 29.25 hours per week.
Ardleigh Surgery is situated in the semi-rural town of Ardleigh, with a branch surgery in the picturesque constable country village of Dedham. They have a list size of around 7,500 patients. The team includes 5 GP’s, a Nursing team of 8, a Dispensing team as well as the practice manager, administrative and reception staff.
You will be the first point of contact for our patients, providing an efficient, friendly and compassionate service as we are committed to delivering high-quality, patient centred care to our local community.
The successful applicant will have a mix of reception and administrative duties including:
Greeting patients and visitors at the front desk.
Answering telephone calls and dealing with patient queries.
Booking, amending and cancelling appointments using the practice clinical systems.
Contacting patients for routine screening appointments.
Communicating with the clinical team, GP's and other health professionals.
Receiving incoming mail, electronic correspondence and prescription requests.
Administrative tasks as required by the practice manager or clinicians.
To be considered for this position, applicants should have the following skills and experience:
Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Be able to speak professionally and confidently to different patient groups, colleagues and clinicians.
Understand primary care or have been in an NHS setting in the past.
Strong IT skills, with experience with EMIS Web is desirable but not essential.
Work under pressure and remain calm in challenging situations.
Organised, flexible and a good team player
Have a good understanding of patient confidentiality and data protection.
