Positive Affirmations

Affirmations are positive phrases that help you deal with negative feelings, thoughts, and situations by saying them out loud. Research shows that positive thinking and the repetition can rewire your brain, changing the way you feel about things and resulting in positive actions.

Positive affirmations can help you:

  • Improve your mindset: they can help you change how you think and feel about yourself and your abilities.

  • Reduce stress: they can help you lower stress levels and decrease worry, fear, and anxiety.

  • Improve your relationships: they can help you improve your relationships.

  • Overcome fear and self-doubt: they can help you overcome fear and self-doubt and reduce self-sabotage.

  • Set goals: they can help you pursue personal development and set goals.

  • Acknowledge your feelings: they can help you make space for your feelings while also calling on your ability to get through them.


When thinking of positive affirmations, determine what you are wanting to achieve. Do you need to motivate yourself, boost your confidence or get rid of nerves or anxiety?

Some examples of positive affirmations include:

  1. I am in charge of how I feel and today I am choosing happiness.

  2. I am beautiful.

  3. I am optimistic because today is a new day.

  4. I believe in myself.

  5. I can be as confident as anyone else.
